We had lunch near the Colosseum after a rather scary taxi ride. The scooters over here are something to behold. This place too stirred the emotions, but for far different reasons than the Vatican. Despite the barbarism that took place here, one can't help but appreciate this incredible structure. Imagine a place the size of a modern-day NFL stadium completely covered in the world's finest marble, replete with a dome no less. Oh by the way, they used to stage mock naval battles with full-sized ships in there! Bet you won't ever see that at a Super Bowl.
